CPSU NSW forum: Workplace Sexual Harassment

We’re on to our fourth and final online forum for 2021. All Professional Staff are invited to this important forum on workplace sexual harassment. The CPSU NSW has developed a model clause we are presenting to universities during this round of bargaining. This clause aims to make universities be more proactive in the prevention of workplace sexual harassment, while effectively supporting those who have experienced this issue in the workplace. CPSU NSW Vice President Shelley Odewahn will be explaining why the union saw it necessary it develop this clause, and what it entails.

The second speaker is Alicia Pearce. Alicia is an expert in gender workplace policy and practice and a current PhD candidate. Alicia’s doctoral research is a national sector case study of Australian universities, looking at whole system regulation and administration of workplace sexual harassment. It’s aligned with the research agenda outlined in the Respect@Work report to better understand interventions in particular industries and workplaces and support workplaces to effectively regulate this critical area of practice.
