Your union has recommenced bargaining in the New Year and attended a meeting on Wednesday 14 January.
Meetings continue to be facilitated by the Commission upon application for assistance by the University and progress has since been made on several issues, with clauses concerning Life Leave, Long Service Leave and Major Workplace Change being agreed to in principle.
Outstanding matters that have not been agreed on yet include union rights and the scope of the agreement.
In this meeting, the university made a pay offer of 10% across 3 years, proposing to structure this as:
Your union bargaining team has initially rejected this offer, noting that this did not reflect the university’s current positive financial standing. The proposed three-year duration for the next agreement was also grounds for rejecting the offer.
We would like to invite you to a members meeting to get your feedback on the pay offer and discuss the progress of bargaining to date.
