NHVR – In Principle Agreement Reached

The CPSU Bargaining team have finally reached an “In Principle Agreement” with the NHVR and have gained a better outcome that we can recommend to our members.

Since returning to the table post the successful No Vote from members the CPSU has outlined the outstanding issues of concern to the NHVR and have come to an improved offer with No Loss to pay and conditions.

  • The offer consists of New Pay entitlements including shift penalties from 8 March 2025 (Same date as if the first Vote had been successful) so no loss of Pay.
  • Increased Redundancy Payment from 26 weeks to 52 weeks
  • Extra weeks leave for West of the Line – Central and Southern Region
  • Improved Delegates Rights Clause to Protect Our Delegates
  • Union members training provisions
  • Mechanically Qualified – Protection Clause
  • Increase to first year pay increase that has a better compounding effect over the three-year agreement
  • Long Service Leave – provision from 7 yrs service down from 10 yrs service Central Region
  • Balance Conversion clause for converting leave balances from 35 hrs per week to 38 hrs per week
  • $500 Sign on Bonus remains on the table
  • Three-year agreement – Expires 7th March 2028
  • Long Service Leave – Double Pay
  • Choice of Roster provisions for continuous shift workers – Weeks extra leave & 15% Shift Penalties or No Extra Weeks Leave and 30% Shift penalties
  • Increase to shift penalties on Weekend and Public Holidays with shift payment to majority of shift (If majority of shift in higher penalty the whole shift is paid at the higher penalty)
  • All other previously agreed conditions in first offer also preserved

This offer has been put to your representatives of the CPSU Advisory Group and was endorsed as an offer of support and to be put to members to vote on.

The NHVR will soon put this offer to members through the access period of 7 days where members get to see the proposed Enterprise Agreement and the pay and conditions you will be entitled to if the majority of members vote Yes.

The CPSU recommends that members vote Yes to this agreement. Contact Ian Braithwaite or 0400 859 630
