Awaiting Coal Services Board Decision regards your EB Agreement

CPSU-NSW has had a second round of visits to members regarding the latest offer to your Enterprise Bargaining Agreement with members unanimously rejecting the offer as it currently stands. Please see the latest offer HERE

Members have rejected the offer based on the following.

  • Total Remuneration Packaged members (TSP) must fund their own Superannuation Guarantee Contributions (SGC) rather than the Employer as it does to all other Coal Service Employees.
  • Remote Area FBT Concessions – Coal Services have indicated that this is being investigated whether this can be provided to employees. Once investigated MAY offer same as salary packaging offers. This offer is a mere statement with no assurance that it will be available to members if they agree to the current offer on the table.
  • “On-Site” allowance not being paid to those that are required to attend and work on mine sites. Members are required to attend sites, adhere to site Drug and Alcohol testing, wear the appropriate Safety and High VIS equipment and garments and be in the vicinity of Noise and Coal Dust yet are being refused that allowance.
  • 1% CPI Cap on Salaries – Members have rejected the current ceiling and have requested that the cap be further increased.

Further Bargaining meetings were to occur on the 27 July 2024 but Coal Services requested that meeting be postponed as they are seeking to go beyond the current approved bargaining parameters.

A further Update will be given on the 16 August 2024 post the Board meeting with hopefully an improved offer and further meeting to discuss the current outstanding issues with the vision of coming to an agreed outcome.
