The CPSU NSW understand that TBS plan to make current Support Coordinators and Allied Health Assistants redundant from 1 September 2024. TBS have advised this is due to funding constrains and TBS are now undertaking consultation with individual employees. Under the TBS Enterprise Agreement, TBS will also have to undertake consultation with your union.
The CPSU NSW know that members are concerned about the workload impact the effect of these cuts will have on members. The CPSU NSW will raise this with TBS pursuant to the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW) under which an employer is obligated to provide members a safe system of work.
Members can contact the CPSU NSW for support regarding their individual circumstances. Members are also encouraged to provide general feedback on the proposed restructure to the CPSU NSW. This will be taken back to TBS as part of consultation between your Union and TBS. Consultation means that TBS must demonstrate that they have taken into consideration feedback from the CPSU NSW prior to making a final decision about the restructure.
