CPSU NSW Bargaining meeting and casual conversion

The CPSU NSW remains concerned about the universities proposed Single Staff Agreement. See our Bulletins HERE  and HERE

This week the union wrote to UTS seeking that separate Agreements be maintained, and a commitment to good faith bargaining.

In addition, the CPSU NSW is asking all Professional Staff to sign the petition HERE to maintain a separate UTS Professional Staff Agreement.

CPSU NSW members’ meeting

All Professional Staff are invited to a meeting at 12.30pm on Thursday 26 August .

This is an important meeting for all Professional Staff to attend. Not only can you hear your bargaining reps’ concerns, but it is an opportunity to listen to your feedback.

Please register HERE.

CASUAL CONVERSION TO ONGOING EMPLOYMENT

In March 2021 there was an amendment to the Fair Work Act 2009 that requires employers to offer eligible casuals (see the CPSU NSW letter for the eligible criteria) ongoing roles by 27 September 2021. The CPSU NSW wrote to the university requesting information about where this process is up to. UTS has since responded stating that they are in the process of identifying eligible casuals and that they will receive a letter advising them of the assessment by the required date.

If you are a eligible casual professional staff member, and are a CPSU NSW we can assist you in this process. If you are not yet a member please join online HERE
