Annual leave loading corrections

PDF version

Members would be aware of the ongoing issue of incorrect annual leave loading payments from Life Without Barriers (LWB). The CPSU NSW has been fighting on behalf of members for some time to resolve this matter. We were advised today that the correction process has now been completed and members can expect any outstanding payments to be made shortly.

Once the CPSU NSW raised this issue with LWB, it quickly became clear the problem was far more widespread than initially anticipated. At your union’s insistence, a complete audit was conducted involving transferred staff to identify all affected members. This audit took longer than initially anticipated to complete as payments as far back as February 2018 were taken into account. The results of this audit revealed some staff had been underpaid whilst others had been overpaid.

Staff who are due additional payments can expect to receive communications from LWB detailing their individual calculations and payments are to be made in the pay run due 21 July. Pleasingly, LWB has confirmed it will NOT be seeking the repayment of funds from anyone who has been overpaid.

The CPSU NSW is satisfied that this issue has been resolved moving forward. However, we will of course continue to monitor payroll compliance into the future.

If you have concerns about any of the above, please contact the CPSU NSW.
