Results of the 2021 PSA election

Results – April 2021 (PDF version)

On 14 April 2021, I was declared elected as General Secretary of the PSA for a second term. I would like to thank all of the hard-working workplace delegates and members who have worked tirelessly for the membership over the past four-and-a-half years.

I extend my warm congratulations to Assistant General Secretary Troy Wright on being re-elected and to our new President, Nicole Jess, along with our newly elected Senior Vice President Juliette Sizer and Vice Presidents Frank Kovic and Shelley Odewahn.

I would also like to extend my congratulations to the new members and re-elected members of the PSA’s Central Council.

I wish to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the staff of the PSA for their incredible achievements during our first term. The PSA’s membership continues to grow and we are once again approaching a combined membership of 40,000.

Together we have introduced many new initiatives and services to members including:

  • Emergency Ambulance Cover
  • Domestic Violence Support
  • Foundation House
  • Perinatal Support/Gidget Foundation Australia
  • Bushfire Relief Fund
  • Welfare Assistance Program
  • An In-House Legal Services Section

We have established the first PSA Aboriginal Council and restructured and strengthened the status of Women’s Council in recognition of the specific challenges our female members face.

I have no doubt the great success we have enjoyed is down to our most valuable resource – our delegates. It is the PSA/CPSU NSW workplace delegates who, day in day out, represent our members in the workplace and ensure that their rights are upheld.

The PSA is once again one of the key unions in NSW and one its members can be proud of. PSA/CPSU NSW members know their union will stand up for them in the workplace.

I look forward to working with you in the years ahead.
