Australian Unity bargaining update: what is happening with your conditions?

Bargaining Update – Nov 2020 (PDF version)

Over the past several months the CPSU NSW and Australian Unity have been in discussions about recommencing bargaining and the operation of the copied State award.

Copied State Award

Transferred staff would be aware the copied State award is in operation until 19 February 2021.

The hope is that we will have an enterprise agreement in place before 19 February 2021. However, as a contingency, Australian Unity has agreed that if an enterprise agreement is not in force the copied State award conditions of employment will continue. This will occur by way of a variation to employees’ contracts of employment and the CPSU NSW and Australian Unity entering into a memorandum of understanding.

The CPSU NSW and Australian Unity are currently negotiating what is to be in the contract variation and memorandum of understanding to ensure copied State award conditions are maintained.  We should be close to finalising these documents in the coming weeks.

Enterprise bargaining

Due to COVID-19, enterprise bargaining has been on hold. We are looking to recommence substantive discussions in the coming weeks once we have finalised what will occur if we are unable to get an enterprise agreement in place before 19 February 2021

We will continue to keep members updated.
