MTC-Broadspectrum steps up with additional paid leave to support staff during COVID-19 crisis

MTC-Broadspectrum has announced new measures to support correctional staff during the COVID-19 health crisis, including additional paid leave for vulnerable staff and those required to self-isolate.

The company’s initiative is welcomed by the CPSU NSW and follows representations made by the union on behalf of correctional staff at Parklea. Click HERE for a copy of our letter.

Under the new arrangements, older employees and those statistically at greater risk will be able to request alternative work arrangements or special leave. The company will review requests on a case-by-case basis, with consideration given to current health advice from the Chief Medical Officer.

Additionally, employees who are directed to self-isolate because they have been in close contact with a staff member or inmate with COVID-19 will be paid by MTC-Broadspectrum throughout the 14-day period of any self-isolation.
