SEPARATE ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT FOR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF – June 2019
On 16 November 2018, your union, CPSU NSW lodged an application for a Scope Order with the Fair Work Commission (FWC) on your behalf. We were seeking to have a separate Enterprise Agreement that covers administrative staff only, separate from care workers.
On 4 June 2019, the FWC issued orders that the 2017 Enterprise Agreement (that is currently being negotiated) must not include employees performing administrative work within the Home Care Service of Australian Unity.
This means the CPSU NSW will soon begin new negotiations with Australian Unity for an Enterprise Agreement that only covers the administrative staff. We did it!
In the meantime, as a transferred employee, your Copied State Award still applies.
You can find a copy of the orders and Commissioner Johns’ decision HERE and the orders HERE.
There is also a summary of the arguments and the decision HERE.
This would not have happened without the assistance and support of members who continuously put their trust in the union and gave their time and input into the process. In particular, the CPSU NSW would like to thank members Tania Shipman and Michael Laetsch, whose evidence at the hearing helped to win the day.
Your Organisers will be visiting your worksite in the very near future to talk about the positive impact of this decision on your employment conditions.
It is more important than ever to be part of the union as we negotiate your new Enterprise Agreement. Make your union stronger by asking a colleague to join the CPSU NSW by applying online at www.cpsunsw.org.au/join or ring 1300 772 679.
