Ausgrid Enterprise Agreement approved by FWC

Ausgrid Enterprise Agreement approved by FWC – May 2018 (PDF version)

The Ausgrid Enterprise Agreement that employees voted to approve on 5 March was listed for Hearing in the Fair Work Commission earlier today. The Enterprise Agreement has been approved by the Commission and will come into effect on 16 May 2018. You can find a copy of the new Enterprise Agreement HERE.

The issue of the Additional Voluntary Redundancy (AVR) provision under which Ausgrid can offer $75,000 to an Excess Employee was raised by the unions. The primary concern was that employees needed some time in which to consider any offer and seven days may be too short. Ausgrid has made an undertaking that no employee will be required to leave Ausgrid before the end of the 2017-2018 financial year through the AVR process.

This will give members affected some time to consider their options and not feel rushed into making a decision. It will also help maximise your take-home pay through reduced taxation, as any payments would be made in the following financial year.

Congratulations to all CPSU NSW members for participating in the long negotiations! You can ask your colleagues to JOIN the CPSU NSW (PSA) by sharing this update, and asking them to JOIN the CPSU NSW (PSA) online at www.cpsunsw.org.au.
