TAFE NSW member update – Letters of Appointment

TAFE NSW member – Letters of Appointment (PDF version)

As a result of the Group 4 Restructure implementation, a number of you will have received letters of appointment.

For those who specified a location, you may have been disturbed to see that your letter of offer refers to your position being initially located in a particular area. For example, if you specified that you wanted to work in Cowra and your letter states the position will be initially located in Cowra.

The CPSU NSW requested TAFE NSW amend its letters to remove the word ‘initially’ and it agreed to do this. However, we note that this has not happened across all regions.

Please be aware that while you may be asked to attend work at another campus on occasion, your position cannot be relocated without consultation with you. TAFE NSW has a Transfer Policy, which it must adhere to.

Our advice to you is to cross out the word ‘initially’ then put your initials next to the crossing out. Sign the letter accepting the position and return it to HR.

If you need further advice, please contact the Member Support Centre on 1300 772 679 or ">.

It is important that you continue to have a say and your voice is heard.

You can support the work of the union and your local delegates by joining the CPSU NSW.

Please forward this to your colleagues so that they know their rights and encourage them to JOIN THE CPSU NSW.

Please note, CPSU NSW members are also members of the Public Service Association of NSW. The PSA is the Associated Body for, and resources and manages, the CPSU NSW.
